Ashley, Library Assistant
Meet Ashley, Your Local Book Whisperer 📚✨
By day, I’m the librarian in training you never knew you needed – sorting, shelving, and helping you discover your next great read, whether you’re after a page-turning thriller or a cozy classic. By night, I’m probably buried in a new fantasy series, trying to finish that coffee (again) or trying to convince people that yes, graphic novels are real books.
I believe in the transformative power of a good book and will happily steer you towards your next adventure—whether it’s an epic fantasy, a gripping thriller, or a heartwarming tale that will stay with you long after you turn the last page.
When I’m not helping you discover your next literary obsession, I’m perfecting my secret librarian handshake (just kidding… or am I?), binge-watching book adaptations, and secretly hoping you’ll ask me for a book recommendation that I can obsess over for the next week.
Whether you’re here for a thrilling mystery or just need a cozy corner to get lost in a novel, I’m always ready with recommendations, a smile, and an ever-growing stack of books on my desk (don’t worry, I’ll finish them… eventually!).

Mina, Library Mascot
Mina is native to the city of Ecorse, and loves the library so much she decided to make her home here! Like other giraffes, she has a giant heart (did you know that giraffe hearts weigh almost 24 pounds?), and with such a big heart she can’t help but love all library patrons – although her favorite patrons are children.
Mina is 13 ft tall and made of papier mache by local artist Mark A. Kalis. She is on indefinite loan to the library from the artist.
Came and say hello to Mina during your visit – she loves to meet new people!
