How and What to Donate to the Library

Financial Support

Support your Ecorse Public Library by donating to the Friends of the Ecorse Public Library. The Friends appreciate cash donations of any amount. These funds are used to support collections and programs at the Ecorse Public Library. You may also donate by calling (313) 389-2030. All contributions to the Friends of the Ecorse Public Library are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by the law.

Memorial or Tribute Gift (Money in Honor of Someone Else)

Contribute in honor of or in memory of a loved one using the Friends of the Ecorse Public Library donation page or call (313) 389-2030.

Used or Rare Books (But Not Magazines)

Bring no more than two (2) boxes to the desk at the Ecorse Public Library. For larger donations, please call (313) 389-2030 to plan.

We cannot guarantee that materials will be added to our collection. Items not added to our collection may be sold at the Used Book Sales. We’ll recycle any unacceptable materials.

We accept rare and used books, CDs and DVDs.  We do NOT accept magazines, broken or damaged items, and anything in a format we don’t circulate (like cassette tapes, videotapes, and records.)

The Ecorse Public Historical Society welcomes the donation of rare and unique materials.

A Book That You Wrote

Donated books are subject to the same selection criteria as books the Library purchases for the collection. Materials that are not selected will be passed on to the Friends of the Ecorse Public Library for use in its semiannual book sales.
